Ben most recently launched a new philanthropy fund, called Fremont Street, which focuses on accelerating the adoption of effective technologies and new models in K-8 schools and classrooms. Prior to this, he worked for eSpark Learning, a Chicago-based edtech company, as the VP of Strategic Partnerships, owning and leading eSpark’s relationships and engagements with school district partners across the country. Before eSpark, Ben served as the Director of Program Investments for The Chicago Public Education Fund. Under Ben’s leadership, The Fund launched its Innovation priority, to support Chicago Public Schools’ educators in developing and implementing new, technology-driven school and classroom models. Prior to moving into the education sector and joining The Fund, Ben spent nearly ten years in private-sector technology in roles ranging from engineer to business development for multiple companies including Sun Microsystems and Transora, a Chicago–based business-to-business software provider.
