I have been in the investment and venture capital industry for over 17 years. For 10+ years I was the Group Head of the Life Science practice at Hercules. Prior to joining Hercules in 2004, I co-founded BioGenesys Capital, which was focused on venture debt financing for biotechnology and medical device companies. Before co-founding BioGenesys Capital, I was a senior vice president and group head of Imperial Bank’s Life Sciences practice, which was acquired by Comerica Bank. Shah also served as an assistant vice president at BancBoston (acquired by Fleet) in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Boston, where he focused on mergers & acquisition finance for four years. Shah received an M.S. in Technology, Management and Policy and B.S. in Molecular Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). During his tenure at MIT, Shah conducted research at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and he currently serves on the Whitehead Institute’s Board of Associates. He is also a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and formerly on the Board of the Institute for Pediatric Innovation.
