Amar Kumar is Senior Vice President in the Office of the Chief Education Advisor at Pearson. He leads the Global Efficacy & Research team which is helping transform the company to put the learner at the center of Pearson’s products and services. From defining learner outcomes to measuring impact on those outcomes, Pearson is helping to accelerate the use of evidence in education. Amar also leads some of Pearson’s investments in low-cost school in India as part of the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund (PALF).
Prior to Pearson, Amar was working in McKinsey and Company’s education and high-tech practices. Prior to McKinsey, Amar served as a teacher and principal at a school in Bangalore, India. Prior to that experience, Amar was an analyst at Eli Lilly & Company, helping scientists better use genetics data to accelerate drug discovery.
Amar holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors in Computer Science from Purdue University.
