John’s interests are in helping key industry players navigate the transition from analog to digital models in education, publishing, and distribution. In recent years at Pearson, he managed and often set policy for Pearson’s digital distribution relationships in Higher Education and Professional publishing, including third party distribution partners like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Google; Learning Management companies like Blackboard: and Joint Ventures like CourseSmart and Safari Books Online. He also managed a small team focused on driving strategic alliances and participated in forming and evaluating the business cases for acquisitions opportunities in Higher Ed, and had a cross-industry role as Chair of the Higher Ed Executive Committee at the Association of American Publishers.
