Eric Cantor

Eric Cantor is CEO of New Mountain Learning (NML), a blended learning language and literacy solutions company serving the primary, secondary and post-secondary education markets. Since joining NML in 2012, Eric’s focus has been on building a sustainable platform for value creation through select investments in organic and inorganic growth initiatives. NML is a portfolio company of CIP Capital, a NYC-based mid-cap private equity firm.

Over the course of his career, Eric has held a number of executive positions in education, professional development, information & media services and consumer products. Prior to joining NML, Eric spent six years at the College Board, his last position as senior vice-president of College Readiness, where he oversaw all K-12 education programs. Prior to that, Eric served as CEO of Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan Inc., providing training, professional development and compliance management services for adult learners.

Eric has served on the boards of a number of small to mid-sized organizations, in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Currently, he is a venture partner at LearnLaunch and an advisory board member of the American Architectural Foundation, Roadtrip Nation and Tootelage. Eric received a BA in history from Haverford College and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
